Storm Water Drainage for Commercial / Industrial car park areas
Originally car park drainage consisted of a large hole which was backfilled with the builders rubble leftover from the site. A pipe was laid to this and a gully/s was attached to it. These types of system are prone to clogging and tree root ingress, the other problem is that there is no access to maintain them. In general this type of system would not last more than 20 years, and would not conform to current building regulations now.
Seen in the pictures below is the system which we prefer to install. This type of system is comprised of concrete sectional rings which are perforated. These rings are then capped off with a reinforced concrete slab; this has a hole in it ready for an inspection cover.

This system is designed by us tailor made to your site requirements to be able to cope with heavy down pours.
The huge advantage of this system is that we can lift the cover and gain access to carry out any maintenance work, the removal of leaves etc.
The area within being a void allows for extra holding capacity when storms occur, and give the sub soil extra time for pecolation.
The installation above was necessary because a ‘Crate’ type system had been previously installed…..and had failed within 6 months!! At considerable cost and disruption to business!
